Getir and Türkiye İş Bankası have announced a strategic partnership for Getir’s upcoming financial services venture, Getir Finans, to provide financial services to users.
Following the necessary regulatory approvals, İş Bankası Group has committed to investing a 50 million USD into Getir Finans, which will operate under the service model banking framework.
With this investment, İş Bankası, which is included in the infrastructure of Getir Finans’s service model banking, will become a 20% shareholder. As a result of this investment, the valuation of Getir Finans, which has not yet begun operations, has reached 250 million USD with its initial investment.
Hakan Aran, the CEO of İş Bankası, commented on the investment decision, saying, “As İş Bankası Group, in line with our mission of being the pioneering bank for digitalization, entrepreneurship, and ventures in our country, we have decided to make a 50 million USD investment in Getir Finans, a new venture. In our 100th year, I wish that the strong partnership we will establish with Getir will set an example for our industry and be followed by further collaborations.”
Nazim Salur, the founder of Getir, stated, “Our journey with Getir, which began with ultra-fast delivery in 2015, has continued by diversifying our services to meet the different needs of our users. Shortly, with Getir Finans, we aim to add financial products to our services, providing a new mobile banking experience for all users inclined towards digital products and applications.”
