Siemens Turkey has released its 2023 Sustainability Report, where it shares its sustainability actions and goals. Assessing sustainability comprehensively, the company implements effective sustainability management in line with the DEGREE (Decarbonization, Ethics, Governance, Resource Efficiency, Equity, Employability) strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Hüseyin Gelis, CEO and President of Siemens Turkey, commented on the 2023 Sustainability Report: “Our commitment to the country we have served for 167 years has strengthened even more. Our history is filled with pioneering achievements in various fields, from electricity and transportation to communication and industrial production. Today, we continue this legacy by focusing on sustainable development without losing our passion. Now, after the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we operate with a full sustainability principle, focusing on areas such as reducing plastic waste and carbon emissions, promoting renewable energy, and developing smart transportation infrastructure.”
Siemens Turkey CFO Thomas Kolbinger also stated in his remarks: “The idea that sustainability and profitability are contradictory concepts is long outdated. Today, we know that sustainability is the fundamental condition for profitability in the long term because there is no longer room for outdated technologies, concepts that have lost their relevance, or purely financially oriented approaches. Nowadays, companies’ success is measured by their contributions to society; being a preferred employer depends on providing social benefits, and as a global citizen, it is necessary first to consider the planet’s health. While Siemens AG operates with this understanding in many different parts of the world, we at Siemens Turkey also embrace the same approach and work to beautify the present and future of these lands.”
