Demet Cengiz, who garnered significant attention with her first novel, has now presented her second novel, “A River Burning Within Me,” to readers.
The novel, distinguished by its biographical nature, revolves around the life stories of Deniz’s twin, Yeter, and her first love Nile.
While bringing these stories to the forefront, the novel adeptly addresses several universal human issues, often feared to be brought up, and mainly tackles issues such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, and extreme poverty, which are overlooked in Turkey.
