Akbank provided a $400,000 investment to Metriqus

Akbank, a strong supporter of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, is running the Akbank+ program under the umbrella of its innovation center, Akbank LAB, to support employees who want to establish their own startups.

In the second term of the program, Akbank provided a $400,000 investment to Metriqus, a startup that enables game studios to make data-driven decisions in their marketing activities.

Developed by Akbank employees Timur Demirkıran and Esra Atakişi, Metriqus helps mobile game studios use data more effectively in their marketing activities. With the Metriqus solution, game studios can access intelligent insights for their marketing activities and manage all their data from a single point. This allows them to make their marketing strategies more data-driven and receive recommendations to reach the right target audience.

In the first term of Akbank+, with investments in the startups Waste Log, which digitizes waste processes, and Voltla, which improves the experiences of electric vehicle owners, the total investment reached $1.4 million.

Burcu Civelek Yüce, Executive Vice President of Consumer Banking and Digital Solutions at Akbank, said: “In the Akbank+ program, Akbank employees with startup ideas can receive end-to-end support in all areas they need, such as training, mentorship, product development, and investment. We are delighted to crown last year’s investments in the circular economy and electric mobility sectors with an investment in the analytics field this year. Through the Akbank+ program, we continue to strengthen our bank’s internal entrepreneurship capabilities. In the upcoming period, we will continue to support Akbank employees who strengthen Turkey’s innovation ecosystem with innovative solutions.”

Pınar Anapa, Executive Vice President of Human and Culture at Akbank, said: “With our internal entrepreneurship program Akbank+, we encourage Akbank employees to become entrepreneurs, create, and bring their ideas to life. We take Akbank employees on a comprehensive development journey to enhance their competencies and expertise. As Human and Culture, we support Akbank employees at every stage of this journey, standing by them as they bring a new perspective to the business world with their innovative ideas. I wholeheartedly congratulate Metriqus, our first spin-off this year and our third overall.”
